Mr. Anthony Petrello was always meant for great things. He completed his Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Mathematics from Yale University and has a Joint Degree from Harvard Law School. Since 2011, he is the President and CEO of Nabors Industries Inc., one of the world’s largest land-based oil and gas drilling contractors. He is the Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board since 2012.
Mr. Anthony Petrello worked at the prestigious law firm Baker & McKenzie as a Managing Partner at their office in New York before going to work for Nabors Industries Inc. in 1991. He was elected to the Nabors Board of Directors and to the Executive Committee of the board in 1991. Anthony Petrello served as the President and COO of Nabors Industries Inc. from 1991 to 2011.
Being a mathematician and a lawyer have stood him in good stead as his knowledge about finance and strategy has helped raise the company to greater heights and contributed to a steady growth in the business of the company. Under his leadership, the company’s stock price more than doubled and the company was added to the S&P 500 index. Under Mr. Anthony Petrello’s tenure, Nabors Industries Inc. made many technological breakthroughs in the highly competitive world of drilling. His goal to make the workplace safe for the company’s workforce has resulted in the company receiving many awards for its excellent safety record. Due to his efforts, Nabors Industries Inc. has established a strong global presence entering into many joint ventures with leading oil producing nations and has cemented its position as a leader in the oil and gas business.
Mr. Petrello along with wife Cynthia, have been generous in supporting the causes close to their hearts. As a family, they have made a commitment of their time and money to Texas Children’s Hospital. By investing in research at Texas Children’s Hospital, they hope for a better future for all affected by neurological disorders.
